Come to dance Salsa, Bachata and more! This Saturday, May 1st starting at 7:30pm in B-J Commons. For all ages, light snacks and drinks to keep your energy high, and many surprises through the evening to keep you off your toes and dancing!

Salsa on campus: Party at SSA this Friday!

We want to let you know that the BLDA will be present and give a lesson on a Latin event on campus! the party 'Noche con Sabor Latino' is at the Social Service Administration building, this Friday April 23 starting at 7pm. It's for 21+ and there will be food served!

This Friday April 16, some BLDA members are attending a free Salsa Party at IIT (18+). Write to fmarinp at uchicago dot edu if you want to attend, to organize car rides.

We are happy to announce the official 4-week schedule for the first part of the quarter:

Salsa:
Classes will be held in the Cloister Club in Ida Noyes Hall
Mondays - April 12th, 19th, 26th, and May 3rd

7pm - Beginners I with Erin and Sheila. Pre-requisites: None!
8pm - Continuing I with James S and Mary. Pre-requisites: Completion of Beginners I and II or instructor approval.
9pm - Open Salsa (Free!)
9:30pm - Intermediate I with James M and Joy. Pre-requisites: Completion of Beginners I and II AND Continuing I and II, or instructor approval.

$16 w/UCID; $20 w/o UCID (whole sequence - no people admitted after the 2nd week)
$60 for a Quarter Membership (all classes & parties)

Ballroom:
Classes will be held in the East Lounge in Ida Noyes Hall
Sundays – Apr. 18 and 25; May 2, 9, and 16

5 pm – 6:30 pm: Advanced Social Ballroom with Matt Rivers. Learn Foxtrot, Jive and Samba Pre-requisites: Completion of Beginner’s Ballroom or instructor approval.

6:30 pm – 8 pm: Beginner’s Ballroom with  Chloe and Lisa Learn Rumba, Jive, and Cha-Cha.
Pre-requisites: None!

$4 w/UCID; $5 w/o UCID per class
$60 for a Quarter Membership (all classes & parties)

Lessons' schedule for Spring, starts April 12!

Hello dancers!

Hope you had an excellent break and good start of the quarter! Dance lessons start next Monday, April 12th--Third Monday of Spring Quarter in Ida Noyes' Cloister Club.

The Salsa Schedule goes like this:
7 pm: Beginning I  with Erin and Sheila. No experience required!
8 pm: Continuing I with James Stauber and Mary. Required to have attended Beginner Salsa or equivalent.
9 pm: Open Salsa: Free for everyone, come and dance/practice your Salsa, Bachata & Chacha!
9:30 pm: Intermediate I  with James Martin and Joy. Continuing Salsa or equivalent required.

Keep on the look out for Ballroom Classes--these should also start Third Week (the week of April 12th) as well.

If you would like to participate in the SalsaChic Performance group, please email Felipe Marin at fmarinp at uchicago dot edu. There are a few slots available for performing in the Chicago Salsa Festival in June. Only advanced students can audition.
